I cannot say nice enough things about this place, staff are great and welcoming, food is the best in Thame, play the sports on tv and great log fire in the winter. Everything you could wish for in a pub.
Fantastic Pad Thai dinner. Will definitely go back!

Popular local eatery. Attended for a lunch with my parents who had recommended the place. Set lunchtime menu was very good and well priced. Pre booking advisable as it's very popular. Some limited parking is available on site but a larger car park is available a few yards away that is free for two hours. Highly recommended.
Very nice restaurant, they have done a great job at reviving the old Black Horse. The food was great and portions were very generous. However, my son has dietary needs and couldn't have majority of the items on the children's menu. It would be nice if they could introduce a lactose free/dairy free option for the kids especially as CMPA and lactose intolerance is on the rise. The kitchen staff advised us what they could offer him, so he had a naked burger with fries and salad. Unfortunately I don't feel it was very nice to serve a 3 year old a medium rare beefburger. He barely ate anything because his burger was red, so his dinner consisted of a home made dairy-free cupcake that I had made as part of my Mum's birthday cake. He had to come home and have a bowl of porridge before bed as he was so hungry. Some better thought needs to go into the kids menu.

A nice little location, I've been to this venue a few times. Nice pleasant staff, food is always good. On my last visit, it was a Friday night, the place was very busy, a few big parties and we hadn't booked, so just walked in as a table of 2, but they said they could accommodate us , if we just took a seat. We were given no indication how long the wait would be, after 10minutes or so, we were re-assured it wouldn't be too long, they were just waiting for a table to be free. In the end ,the wait was approximately 20minutes, not bad, for a Friday night, as we were walk-ins, but I was shocked that in this time, we had not been offered drinks, not only from a business perspective, but also general hospitality, as a host, I feel this should have been 1 of the 1st things they did, never mind. We had a couple of starters, I had the Etna pizza , which on arrival unasked for a cocktail, the pizza was really nice, the drink happened to be a no show, so eating a spicy pizza with nothing to wash it Dow with wasn't too pleasant, then I had to give the waitress a gentle reminder, I would not be needing my drink I ordered anymore, she had clearly forgotten. I would recommend this place as long as you book a table beforehand.
Food was good , service was average. Only downside is tables close together and we felt cramped in a corner on a table of 6 adults.
